Many have noticed that Bela Padilla is the spitting image of Zanjoe's ex-girlfriend Bea Alonzo.
During the grand press conference of ABS-CBN's new teleserye, My Dear Heart, Zanjoe was put on the spot as he was asked to react to this issue.
Zanjoe on his part attempted to avoid the question.
�Yun talaga? Kamukha ba?� he quipped.
Although the actor later on admitted that some do say Bela looks a lot like his ex-girlfriend Bea, the actor pointed out that his new co-star has her own beauty.
"Sinasabi nila hawig� Pero siyempre ang tagal na naming magkasama ni Bela, hindi naman [sila magkamukha ni Bea]. May sarili siyang ganda."
However Zanjoe chose to focus on their upcoming show 'My Dear Heart' as he praised Bela for her natural acting skills.
"Ang natural umarte ni Bella sa mga eksenang mag-best friends kami. Ang hirap nun, e. Ngayon lang kami nagkatrabaho. Hindi naman talaga kami magkaibigan sa totoong buhay," shared Zanjoe.
"Nung nagsimula yung taping, hindi naman talaga kami close. So paano mo ibibigay yung simula bata pa lang magkaibigan na kayo?" he explained.
Bela also expressed admiration for the actor who can easily internalize his character's anguish without much effort.
"Magkaiba kaming dalawa kung paano kami magtrabaho."
"Ako kailangan ko pa mag-prepare sa isang eksena, lalo na kapag malungkot. Kailangan tahimik muna ako, makikinig muna ng music. Ang tagal tagal�"
"Siya, pagdating niya sa set, ready na kaagad. Parang, saan nanggagaling yun? Palagi siyang ready."
Zanjoe was quick to react to this as he claimed that he was just good at pretending.
"Magaling lang po ako mag-pretend!" he deflected.
Bela also shared how easy it was to communicate with the actor in establishing a friendship for their first scene.
"May eksena kami na lalapit kami kay Tita Coney [Reyes]. Tapos parang tinanong ko lang siya, 'Puwede ba kitang hawakan sa shoulder?'"
"Nakita ko comfortable naman siya. Kaya siguro parang na at ease din ako pagdating sa set sa talagang first day ng taping."
Bela's character is Zanjoe's bestfriend since childhood turned wife. Zanjoe and Bela play as Jude and Clara, happily married with their daughter, Heart.
However the family comes face to face with a great trial after Heart was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease that leads to her coma.
The new teleserye began airing on January 23 following Coco Martin's 'Ang Probinsyano' on the Kapamilya Primetime Bida block.
